Smidswater

If you are looking for more in-depth travel advice about Belgium and the Netherlands, I created a guidebook on behalf of Moon Travel about Amsterdam, Brussels, and Bruges. You can find this book on Amazon!

One of my favorite peaceful spots in the Hague to walk along is Smidswater for its gorgeous canal houses (which might even rival Amsterdam’s). There are a few cafes along the water worth enjoying on a nice day…

The Binnenhof (of course!)

The Peace Palace

The Peace Palace is one of the gems of the Hague. This beautiful building, which is still used for international court sessions. Visiting the Peace Palace is a bit difficult, however you can click for tips for visiting the interior of the Peace Palace.

Scheveningen

Although Scheveningen is technically separate from the Hague, many Hagenaars are so proud of the beach near the city…. I love coming out to Scheveningen to watch the sunset, admire the traditional Scheveningen clothing, and enjoy a relaxing walk along the sidewalk. Click for my guide to Scheveningen!

Lange Voorhout

I have numerous beautiful photos of the most beautiful street in the Hague, Lange Voorhout. It’s hard to ignore this street, but my favorite photo has to be this spring photo with little flowers popping up!

Hidden courtyards around the city center…

All around the Hague, you’ll find beautiful hidden courtyards with numerous secrets… Some have full gardens while others are tiny picturesque streets where you can enjoy a moment of silence. You can read this post about secrets of the Hague to discover my favorite courtyards in the Hague!

Japanese Garden at Clingendael

One of my favorite locations to take photos in the Hague to visit is Clingendael park. This beautiful park in the Hague holds the Japanese Garden, a beautifully maintained garden that is opened twice a year to the public when it’s in full bloom. It’s crowded, but the spectacular colors are worth a look!

King’s Day

One of the most important events of the Hague is Prinsjesdag. As an ordinary citizen, you can enjoy the events along the streets of the Hague and get a glimpse of the royals. Click for more information about celebrating Prinsjesdag in the Hague.
